In early 2021, the Healthy Families Act was introduced into Senate. No action has taken place yet on that bill. Therefore, to date while there is no mandated paid sick leave on a federal level in the USA well over a dozen state governments, as well as many cities and counties, have introduced and mandated sick pay laws for employees and even for their families too.

Learning Objectives Covered During This Session:

  • Which states have these paid sick leave laws, including COVID related regulations?
  • Which states have medical leave programs which are administered by the government?
  • How does paid sick leave intersect with Family, Medical and Disability leaves?

Why attend?

This affects you if your company operates in one or more of those locations and/or have remote employees across the country.  We will also review a few unique laws such as one in a state that banned “Use It Or Lose It” Time Off Policies and another state that enacted a Voluntary, Paid Family Leave insurance based program which employers can opt into.
