Build a mental map of QuickBooks Online so you can work more confidently and efficiently.

Learning a new accounting system can feel like hiking through unfamiliar territory. QuickBooks Online includes menus, workflows, reports, and features in every direction, making it difficult to know where to start or what path to take next. This webinar is designed to help users better understand the structure of QuickBooks Online, providing a practical framework for navigating the application with greater ease and confidence.

Rather than attempting to cover every feature in QuickBooks Online, this session focuses on developing a mental map of how the application is organized, how information flows through the system, and where to look when questions arise. Once you understand the landscape, you'll find it easier to explore the areas that matter most to your business, improve accounting efficiency, and make better use of the platform's tools and resources.

Whether you're new to QuickBooks Online or have been using it for years, you'll leave with a clearer understanding of how the pieces fit together and greater confidence navigating the application independently. By understanding key workflows and navigation techniques, you'll be better equipped to manage day-to-day accounting tasks and maintain accurate financial records.

Your Benefits For Attending:
  • Understand the major workflow areas within QuickBooks Online and how they relate to one another.
  • Follow the lifecycle of a transaction from data entry through financial reports.
  • Recognize which tasks belong in Sales, Expenses, Banking, Payroll, Projects, and Reporting.
  • Distinguish between everyday workflows and advanced features so you can focus on what matters most.
  • Discover practical navigation techniques that reduce frustration and help you work more efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring tasks while maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Build confidence exploring new features instead of relying on step-by-step instructions.

Attending this webinar will help you navigate QuickBooks Online with greater confidence and efficiency. You'll gain practical knowledge that can save time, reduce frustration, and empower you to independently explore and use the features that best support your business needs.

Who Should Attend:
  • Individuals who are new to QuickBooks Online and want to better understand how the application is organized.
  • Current QuickBooks Online users looking to improve their navigation skills and work more efficiently.
  • Anyone seeking a clearer understanding of how transactions flow through QuickBooks Online and connect to financial reporting.

Chart of Accounts: Chart of Accounts is the complete list of all the company’s accounts and balances. In QuickBooks, it represents and organizes the company's assets, liabilities, income, and expense. If you just created your file, make sure to record the accounts' opening balances.

Contractor: A person or company that undertakes a contract to provide materials or labor to perform a service or do a job.

Invoice: An invoice, bill or tab is a commercial document issued by a seller to a buyer, relating to a sale transaction and indicating the products, quantities, and agreed prices for products or services the seller had provided the buyer. Payment terms are usually stated on the invoice.

Journal Entry: A transaction used for accounting adjustments and activity that standard QuickBooks transaction screens cannot accommodate.

Products & Services: A foundational QuickBooks list representing what a company sells or the inventory items it purchases.

Purchase Order: A legal contract between a buyer and a vendor. It lists the materials or services to be purchased on specified terms and conditions (quantity, price / pricing conditions, delivery date).

QuickBooks Online: QuickBooks Online is our cloud-based subscription service that gives you the freedom to work from any device — anytime, anywhere.

Reconcile: A QuickBooks banking activity used to compare QuickBooks activity with a bank or credit-card statement.

Tracking Methods: QuickBooks methods used to organize, classify, and analyze business activity beyond the Chart of Accounts.

Vendor: A vendor is a person or business that supplies goods or services to a company. Another term for the vendor is the supplier. In many situations, a company presents the vendor with a purchase order stating the goods or services needed, the price, delivery date, and other terms.

Presenter was very knowledgeable and easily understood except with around 10 mins to go. Seemed like he was rushing and it was a bit difficult to follow along. He presented items that I didn't know I needed to know.
