The 2026 Form W-2 introduces new reporting requirements for qualified tips and qualified overtime compensation, creating important year-end considerations for payroll teams. This 50-minute Policy Pop will break down the 2026 Form W-2 changes, including Box 12 Code TP for cash tips reported to the employer, Box 12 Code TT for qualified overtime compensation, and Box 14b for Treasury Tipped Occupation Codes.

With W-2 processing ahead, payroll professionals need to understand not only what belongs in these new reporting fields but also what payroll data must be tracked and validated. This session will focus on practical payroll execution, including how qualified overtime differs from total overtime pay, how cash tips and tipped occupation codes should be validated, what questions payroll teams should ask vendors now, and what system checks, employee communication, and year-end validation steps should be completed before producing 2026 Forms W-2.

Your Benefits For Attending
  • Identify the 2026 Form W-2 changes related to qualified tips, qualified overtime compensation, and Treasury Tipped Occupation Codes.
  • Explain the purpose of Box 12 Code TP, Box 12 Code TT, and the new Box 14b reporting field.
  • Distinguish total overtime pay from qualified overtime compensation reported under Code TT.
  • Review the payroll data needed to validate cash tips, qualified overtime compensation, and tipped occupation coding.
  • Prepare vendor questions, system checks, employee communication, and year-end validation steps before W-2 processing.

By attending this Policy Pop, payroll professionals will gain a clearer understanding of what goes into each new 2026 Form W-2 reporting field and what needs to be reviewed before year-end processing. Participants will leave better prepared to validate payroll data, work with vendors, and address key reporting requirements before producing 2026 Forms W-2.

Do you have any other comments, questions or concerns?
The examples given on how to calculate Blended Rates were not great. The explanation of how to calculate was very convoluted. I already know how to calculate blended, but watching this course made it more confusing than it needed to be. And due to me having to leave promptly at 330p I dont know if my question(s) were ever answered. Disappointed

Do you have any other comments, questions or concerns?
I do not feel like I learned anything from the Davis Bacon Compliance Seminar. Each subject was talked about in a general way, with personal anecdotes, without examples involving numbers so we could actually figure the math. There was a lot of "here's how to email people," and "these things are really important," without explaining the why or the specific consequences. We need more how to math problems and explanation of the underlying cause and effect.
