Compliance and RegulatoryDr. William T. Simmons serves as the district court administrator for the Sixth Judicial Administrative District of Georgia. The Sixth Judicial District, Superior Courts of Georgia, is comprised of 14 counties, 6 circuits, and 24 superior court judges. A multitude of judicial employees across those circuits rely upon his daily leadership and expertise. Simmons previously served as the superior and state court administrator for the Clayton Judicial Circuit in Jonesboro, Georgia, as well as the law library director for Cobb County Judicial Circuit in Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Simmons has spent his entire career in court management. Beginning in 1998, he has 27 years of judicial leadership experience.
A past president of the National Association for Court Management, and a past president of the Georgia Council of Court Administrators, Simmons earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Savannah State University, a Master of Arts in organizational leadership and administration, and a Doctor of Education in organizational leadership and administration. Simmons also received certificates in Executive Leadership, and Diversity Equity & Inclusion from Cornell University.
A public servant, speaker, lecturer, and community leader, Dr. Simmons serves on several judicial committees, university boards, faculty, and civic group boards.
