Mechelle Cooper is a Court Auditor with five years of experience working alongside the legal and Georgia Electronic Conviction Processing System (GECPS) teams for the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS). She specializes in Municipal Court processes and procedures serving the local courts throughout the state. She previously served the City of Conyers Municipal Court for 11 years as the Clerk of Court.

In her current role with DDS, she is responsible for reviewing the courts’ conviction reporting, outstanding errors, attending and presenting at the Institute for Continuing Judicial Education (ICJE), mandated annual training and assisting court clerks with other court issues that may arise.

The legal and GECPS departments both rely heavily on her knowledge of court processes and procedures.  She strives to be a positive encouragement to all court clerks, new and experienced.

Integrity is very important to her, and she believes her own integrity has landed her in one of the most fulfilling careers ever held.

She counts it as a huge compliment when approached for assistance regarding various regulations and court issues, both internally and externally.

She is inspired daily by her beautiful daughters, son-in-law, precious grandchildren and her two super sweet dog rescues. She loves visiting Tybee Island for short weekend getaways and spending time in the best small town of Monroe, Georgia walking, playing tennis and learning to play pickleball.
