With a career spanning over 30 years, Dr. Jackson has established herself as a leading figure in the finance and accounting consulting industry. Serving as a finance and accounting consultant at TSJ Financial Services and Consulting in Georgia, she founded the company after roles at other organizations gave her the reputation and experience in finance she needed to succeed with her own firm. In this role, she is dedicated to assisting small businesses and structuring nonprofit organizations. Her comprehensive support includes guiding clients through the completion of federal applications and assisting in the development of procedural documentation for successful operations. Dr. Jackson is proficient in personal and corporate tax preparations, as well as providing meticulous accounting and bookkeeping services.
Before founding TSJ Financial Services and Consulting, Dr. Jackson worked with the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget in Atlanta, Georgia, where she played an integral part in assembling the budget for the State of Georgia. Her career also took her to the Auditing Department at the Georgia Department of Transportation and a project management office role at Calvin, Giordano & Associates. In these roles, she spearheaded the establishment of the finance and administration unit for the City of Dunwoody in Georgia.
Dr. Jackson's experience also includes serving as the Chief of Budget and Fiscal Policy and as Chief Investment Officer for the City of Atlanta. In a similar capacity, she oversaw employee pensions as the financial systems manager for the Gwinnett Retirement System within Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia, managing assets exceeding $1 billion. Dr. Jackson’s academic achievements laid the essential foundation for her success in finance. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, and a Master of Business Administration in Public Management, both from Trident University International. She also earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Fayetteville State University.
Dr. Jackson's personal life is deeply intertwined with her professional journey, as she is dedicated to using her talents for community service. She is involved with various civic-minded organizations, such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, where she has held leadership positions, including former vice president and president at undergraduate chapters. She also served 8 years as a board member of the Central Gwinnett Black Knights Tip-Off Club and actively participates with organizations like Habitat for Humanity.
Dr. Jackson's commitment to financial literacy extends beyond her professional endeavors; she offers free financial literacy training seminars and has contributed to workforce development programs at various academic institutions, including Gwinnett Technical College and Banneker High School, among others.
