Blended rate calculations — also referred to as Regular Rate of Pay (RROP) — can quickly become a payroll professional’s biggest headache. Although the concept seems simple on paper, applying it in real-world scenarios, especially when juggling multiple pay rates and overtime rules, often leads to confusion, errors, and compliance risks.

This webinar will take the mystery out of blended rates by clearly explaining when they’re necessary and how to calculate them accurately and efficiently.

Designed for payroll professionals, HR specialists, and finance teams, this session dives into the practical application of blended rate rules under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). With step-by-step examples and relatable scenarios, you'll gain clarity on weighted averages versus regular rates, overtime for multi-rate employees, and how to communicate these calculations to stakeholders outside of payroll.

Whether you're new to this concept or need a confidence boost in your current process, this session will leave you better equipped and empowered.

Your Benefits for Attending:
  • Define the concept of blended rates in the context of payroll.
  • Identify when a blended rate calculation is required under the FLSA.
  • Distinguish between weighted average and regular rate of pay calculations.
  • Accurately calculate overtime pay for employees with multiple pay rates using simple examples.
  • Avoid common mistakes that lead to underpayments or compliance issues.
  • Explain blended rate calculations to non-payroll colleagues and stakeholders.

Why this webinar is worth your time:
Gain the skills and confidence to master blended rate calculations and protect your organization from costly payroll errors — all while enhancing your professional expertise and compliance know-how.

Rather basic and boring for a long-time payroll person. The audio only presentation only made it worse for those who are visually oriented. Polls were kind of lame to boot.

Thought there could have been a much easier way to go over all 50 states final pay requirements, especially for employers that only needed to here about 1 state but had to spend 1 hour listening & viewing 49 others.

This program reviewed final paycheck requirements state-by-state as well as a high-level overview for the EU and Great Britain. The presenter answered many questions with very specific recommendations.

Responses to 1 & 8 are not accurate representations because I jumped off the call early. I was happy to leave though after listening to her go in depth on each state's requirements for 20+ minutes. Taking my time for 49 other states that don't apply to me is a waste. Also, the dog barking in the background is distracting.

It was very productive and very informational especially knowing about the different states and their policies when it comes to final paychecks.
