It can be discouraging when a valuable employee resigns, especially if they are leaving for another opportunity. However, this moment also presents a critical learning and improvement opportunity. Conducting a structured Exit Interview can reveal valuable insights into your organization’s strengths, weaknesses, and workplace culture—helping you identify what drives employees to leave and how you can better retain top talent. With the right approach, an Exit Interview can even open the door to retaining the departing employee.

Beyond talent retention, Exit Interviews are also a powerful tool to protect your organization. They provide a formal process for collecting company property, securing data, and ensuring that departing employees fully understand their ongoing confidentiality obligations. This process can significantly reduce the risk of future legal disputes. In addition, this webinar will equip you with practical tools, including a sample Exit Interview survey and Stay Interview questions, so you can immediately implement or enhance your Exit Interview program.

Your Benefits for Attending:
  • Discuss who should and shouldn’t conduct Exit Interviews
  • Learn about topics that reduce the likelihood of lawsuits after an employee leaves
  • Review key questions to uncover issues that were not previously reported
  • Explore best practices for both onsite and remote Exit Interviews
  • Understand the importance of documentation for legal protection
  • Discover how to build a listening culture that encourages open communication
  • Go beyond “why did you leave?” to gain meaningful, actionable feedback
  • Discuss Stay Interviews as a proactive strategy to reduce turnover
In your toolkit you will receive:
  • PowerPoint deck
  • Exit Interview Survey
  • Stay Interview Questions
Why this webinar is a benefit to attend:

By attending this session, you’ll gain the confidence and resources to conduct Exit Interviews that not only protect your organization but also strengthen retention and engagement strategies. You’ll walk away with actionable tools to transform employee departures into valuable opportunities for long-term improvement.

This was WELL worth the money. Clear presentation, great notes readily available, and I really appreciated having someone experienced give great advice.

I wish it was a little more in depth, it seems like us and multiple other participants had led investigations in the past so a lot of the content was not useful as we know what a workplace investigation is and did not need a refresher on the general overview. This training seems best for small companies just starting out that do not often have in depth investigations. We have team members dedicated to employee relations so we were hoping for more techniques and strategies and less "this is a type of investigation". I wish it was very clear that half of this was a very general overview on simply what an investigation is because it has really dissuaded us from signing up for future trainings. I think the speaker was qualified and good at speaking and I like that we were given handouts.
