Do you avoid eye contact at a meeting when they are looking for a minute taker? Maybe even come to the meeting deliberately late so that you won’t be chosen? Does the thought of taking minutes scare you to death? Worry that you don’t have shorthand and can’t write fast enough?

You are not alone.

Most people learn to take minutes from copying the previous minute takers example, but what if you have no previous example? What happens if what they have created in the past doesn’t make sense to you? Most people are not even remotely confident when it comes to taking minutes because they were never taught how to take minutes.

Our introductory webinar will give you the skills you need to get started and be confident. We will ensure you walk into your next meeting knowing you can do what they need you to do.

Your Benefits of Attending:

  • Understand the purpose of minutes and why they are so important.
  • Learn what minutes should contain and why.
  • Learn what minutes should not contain and why.
  • Gain tips and tricks that will immediately get you on track for you next meeting.
  • Understand why you shouldn't be taking verbatim minutes and how to take minutes without the common "Mary said, Bob said" mistake.

Rhonda has been teaching a full day course on "Minute Taking Made Easy" for over 20 years and she has extracted the tips that will help you get started quickly and properly.  Tried and true with thousands of graduates, this webinar will be your saving grace.

No more worrying that you didn't capture what everyone said or missed the important information.  You won't! You will look like you have been taking minutes for years.

I did not find any of the information to be new or insightful. Everything presented felt like logical guidelines for all admins and EAs, and things we already practice.

A great workshop that I'm sure would have exceeded expectations even further if we had been able to attend in person.

Wish the time allotted was longer. Would have liked to see other attendees' comments and an actual comment box for those who had to listen by phone, not a question box. I had technical issues with my speakers so I had to dial in. Great presentation overall.

Do not feel the price of this webinar was worth what information was presented. Not a good value.

I was really disappointed at the sexist jokes (and the binary of "women do things this way, men that way" - not all of us are men or women, and it's 2021 so you could just say "some people" rather than making it gendered), and the lack of content (beyond a passing mention) regarding cultural differences in leadership approaches. The lack of understanding when I asked about how to adjust these skills to neuro-diversity, in both admin staff and those we work with, was also somewhat shocking. There was also a lot of emphasis on "forgive and forget" or "just move on" that felt very dismissive of very real workplace traumas that occur. When I asked, it was dismissed as "this is a discussion of business, not trauma." Not everyone has the luxury of working in a trauma-free environment, and dismissing trauma as wholly separate from work environments is very upsetting. There was definitely some useful information about Emotional Intelligence, but it didn't feel like it went beyond binary gender stereotypes. The discussion of Influence also felt like it could have been expanded to fill some of the time that was taken up with stereotypes instead; I would like to have heard more about ways to develop skills, particularly in workplaces that are less than ideal, that can expand an admin's influence beyond their typical sphere and perhaps lead to other work. The two pieces of advice, of moving yourself out of BCC on important emails and attending meetings with higher-level staff if you can, were interesting, and I would have liked to hear more.
