Harper Palmer is an associate in the firm’s Kansas City office and focuses on a variety of labor and employment matters, namely drafting workplace policies and employment-related contracts, including non-compete and non-disclosure agreements.

While in law school, Harper was the Editor-in-Chief of the Business, Entrepreneurship, and Tax Law Review, served as Associate Judging Director of the Board of Advocates, and was a member of the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic. She also was champion and “top-gun” of Mizzou Law’s Mock Trial competition her 1L year, was awarded the Fred L. Howard Prize for Excellence in the Advancement of Advocacy, and, during her final year, was selected as a member of the Order of Barristers.

The webinar was a basics in FMLA/ADA and not what the title of the course suggested: "FMLA Extensions: When 12 Weeks Isn't Enough"

Most of the information was elementary in terms of leave laws. This class was marketed as "what happens when the FMLA runs out" yet we spent approximately 40 minutes of the 90 minute time frame discussing FMLA eligibility and requirements.Additionally, the questions that were forwarded to the presenter during the final few moments were all answered during the presentation. Whomever was moderating should have paid attention to that more closely. Unfortunately, it felt like we wasted time on questions that were already answered had the participants and moderator paid attention.

Given the title, I thought the majority of content would focus on the specifics of when leaves extend beyond 12 weeks. This was addressed, but not in the depth that I thought it would be.
