Human Resources WebsiteLawrence Hilton is an associate in the firm’s Charlotte office and has over ten years of legal experience.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Lawrence served as an Assistant United States Attorney in The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana. While at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he managed a caseload, which included the prosecution of multinational drug organizations, complex fraud, death penalty, and human trafficking cases. Prior to leaving the U.S. Attorney’s Office he served as the Human Trafficking Coordinator for the Southern District of Indiana. Lawrence has extensive trial experience, having tried over 60 felony jury trials.
During his time at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he received multiple recognitions for excellence in criminal prosecution including the Trailblazer Award commending creative investigative leadership by the United States Department of Justice, Commendation for Outstanding Contributions in the field of Drug Law Enforcement for the successful prosecution of Operation Fat Ivan by the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Victim Assistance Award recognizing extraordinary efforts in working with crime victims by the United States Department of Justice.
Additionally, Lawrence has served as an assistant professor at Miami University, Farmer School of Business, an adjunct professor at Indiana University’s School of Law and School of Criminal Justice, and Northern Kentucky University’s Chase College of Law. He currently assists in coaching the Furman University mock trial team and regularly conducts trainings across the country related to trial advocacy.
