Mike Thomas has worked in the IT training business for 26 years. His expertise and experience covers designing and delivering training courses, creating written training materials (Quick Reference Guides and step-by-step tutorials), recording and editing video-based tutorials and providing support to users. He is a subject matter expert in a range of Microsoft technologies including Microsoft Office, Lync/Skype for Business and SharePoint. He has extensive experience of working with Cloud-based collaboration tools such as Box and OneDrive and has worked extensively with Mac OSX and Mac-related software since 2006. Mike has worked with and for a large number of global and UK-based companies and organisations across a diverse range of sectors including pharmaceutical, healthcare, legal, retail and public sector. In addition to training, he designs and develops Microsoft Office-based solutions that automate key business tasks and processes, which in turn saves time and money and improves productivity. Mike is a Fellow of The Learning and Performance Institute.

It seemed like the multitude of questions slowed the class down a bit. I would have preferred less Q/A and more information presented. The instructor was great and I do understand he was doing his best to accommodate all skill levels of Excel. It was clear that some of the participants were not familiar with Excel, while others were frequent users of Excel.

Mike Thomas was the training lead and he did a splendid job of keeping us on task while also answering pertinent and relevant questions from the audience. Hope all of the Aurora trainers are as awesome as Mike.

Overall it was a great course and clearly explained all of the information that was covered. Based on the description and the level being listed as "Advanced" I did expect it to cover more advanced topics. The presenter did a great job with building on concepts to explain the information he covered. Would love to see an advanced course that starts where this one left off. Based on the excel sheets the presenter had for examples, it looked like he was prepared to cover many more functions and I would love to learn about those as well.

I liked the pace. I liked that it didn't assume too much prior knowledge and covered the more basic points, (a couple of these happened to be gaps in my prior knowledge) but then also went into the more involved scenarios and gave opportunities to practice writing the demonstrated formulas in the proper syntax using the practice sheets (and went slow enough for us to actually do so).
