Time off for a headache? Intermittent leave for arthritis? More so than ever, employees are requesting accommodations in the workplace for what arguably may be disabilities under the Americans With Disabilities Act. This presentation will focus on what is and is not a disability under the ADA, comparing the ADA with the Family Medical Leave Act, and providing best practices and recommended policies to help handle the ADA’s required “interactive process” that employers must engage in when an employee requests an accommodation. Professionals will also learn the dangers that can be caused by failing to document the interactive process, and best practices to limit liability when things don’t go as planned.

Your Benefits For Attending:
  • Comprehensive review of ADA law and what qualifies as a disability.
  • Key differences between the ADA and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
  • Understanding the importance of the interactive process and employer responsibilities.
  • How to effectively use the interactive process and implement best practices.
  • Strategies to document accommodations properly and reduce liability risks.
  • Lauren M. Sobaski

The best part of the webinar was the video of a mock interrogation. That was such an eye opener. I would love to see more of this type of video with the webinars. The webinar should have been longer to cover everything. She skipped over a lot of slides at the end and did not focus much time on what to do if an employee had performance issues. but this was one of the best webinars I have been on with your company. You should do more webinars with scenarios of certain situations.

I think that the material was a bit rushed at the end. It could have been due to the time constraint but the information was very relevant.

I found this presenter to be very knowledgeable on a very relevant topic. This could have been a 2 hour session and there would have been more to cover. I would certainly attend another session on a similar topic with this presenter again.

Maybe a little more time as it is great information packed into 1.5 hours. Presenter was great and attempted to answer all questions.
