Time off for a headache? Intermittent leave for arthritis? More so than ever, employees are requesting accommodations in the workplace for what arguably may be disabilities under the Americans With Disabilities Act. This presentation will focus on what is and is not a disability under the ADA, comparing the ADA with the Family Medical Leave Act, and providing best practices and recommended policies to help handle the ADA’s required “interactive process” that employers must engage in when an employee requests an accommodation. Professionals will also learn the dangers that can be caused by failing to document the interactive process, and best practices to limit liability when things don’t go as planned.

Your Benefits For Attending:
  • Comprehensive review of ADA law and what qualifies as a disability.
  • Key differences between the ADA and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
  • Understanding the importance of the interactive process and employer responsibilities.
  • How to effectively use the interactive process and implement best practices.
  • Strategies to document accommodations properly and reduce liability risks.
  • Lauren M. Sobaski

The information was very good. However, it seems like the time went by very fast. Because some things the instructor did not have enough time to discuss.

I think the materials were going to be emailed. I may have missed them. So I can't accurately score question 3.

No materials were available beforehand and due to time constraints the presenter had to skip content and questions asked. It felt disconnected and not the best quality to be honest.

While I did enjoy the content of this presentation, the content did not match up to the advertised name of the webinar. The webinar seemed to generally focus on investigating complaints (which, again, WAS useful) but did not focus on "Complaints Entangled With Performance Related Issues" as advertised. This was specifically why I signed up for the webinar.
