Lester S. Rosen is an attorney at law and founder of Employment Screening Resources (www.ESRcheck.com ), a service offering of ClearStar.  ESR is a national background screening company located in California and is accredited under the Professional Background Screeners Association (PBSA) accreditation program.

He is the author of, “The Safe Hiring Manual- The Complete Guide to Employment Screening Background Checks for Employers, Recruiters, and Jobseekers (823 pages-Facts on Demand Press/3d Edition 2017),  the first comprehensive book on employment screening. He has also written, “The Safe Hiring Audit,” published in 2008.

He is also a consultant, writer, and frequent presenter nationwide on pre-employment screening and safe hiring issues. He has qualified and testified in the California, Florida, and Arkansas Superior Courts as an expert witness on issues surrounding safe hiring and due diligence. His speaking appearances have included numerous national and statewide conferences.

Mr. Rosen was the chairperson of the steering committee that founded the PBSA, the  professional trade organization for the screening industry, and served as the first co-chairman in 2004

Sorry - I didn't know this was the last of a series on this topic. Wasn't sure it was noted anywhere, but it stood on its own well enough. There was a lot of material to cover so it felt a tiny bit rushed...but the speaker was easily understood and engaging!

The event content (which focused on PRE employment use of social media) and the presenter were excellent. However,the only reason I expressed any dissatisfaction with the event was because the information was not as relevant as I had hoped it would be for our purposes. While the PRE employment social media usage was covered in depth the POST employment policies were not and that is more relevant to our office.

"The only reason why I wasn't more satisfied with this event is because I feel that we needed more time for all the information that was being presented and maybe the presenter wouldn't have been so rushed. I liked the presenter and how he explained things and his humor, but I did feel like he could have slowed down a bit if we had more time and we would have benefitted more from it. I do like how there are links in the presentation that we can later refer to."

"I feel like most of what was covered is information that could be easily googled. At the end, the presenter ran over a list of subjects that could be gone over in another webinar such as what the diff. type of background checks cover, and what is actually useful for hiring. This would have been so much more useful, and it covers information that is more difficult to pin down. The legality part is important too, but having a resource for understanding the brass tacks of background checks and whats going to get you the most valueable info on a candidate would be GREAT!"
